About Suns of Stars:

Orbiting around Asheville's grateful music scene since late 2023, Suns Of Stars blends contemporary and traditional bluegrass with a high energy jam style. At its core lies the trio of Alex Bazemore (guitar), and Asheville's own Jackson Chisholm (upright bass) and Johnny Humphries (mandolin), son of local Bluegrass legend Don Humphries. As Suns Of Stars has been gathering momentum they've picked up Alex Ball (fiddle) and Jason Flournoy (banjo). Suns Of Stars members are all hometown heroes in various musical projects around town which has led to great turnout at their shows. That, along with a massive song repertoire and growing list of original music make for a unique performance each time.

Our 117 acre bike park, brewery, and BBQ join is part of the Foothills Farm & Butchery family businesses (Butcher Shop, Grange, and Hell or High Water in Black Mountain, NC) and is built for full days out with the whole crew. Ride backcountry trails or the pump track, wade in the Catawba River or float in our natural pond, then settle into a cold craft Butcher Babe beer and smoked BBQ without ever moving the car. Bring the kids, bring the group, bring whoever needs a good day outside.

Hiram is a family band that have grown up together writing, picking, and singing songs. They played their first gig together in downtown Gastonia where local legend David Childers opened for them. From campfires, to concert halls, & bars they have been playing together 15+ years.

Red Brandenburg holds it down on the bass, Grayson Drum swaps between the fiddle and mandolin, while Jacob Clawson & GG Hellderman accompany each other on guitar. They all share the mic weaving harmonies on each other’s tunes.

As always, we'll be providing great food, cold beer, and impeccable vibes—right here in Old Fort, NC.

This is a free, all ages event, so bring the whole family along.

This is a free, family friendly event

Please park in the lower lot, then walk up to Basecamp to enjoy the show

There will be some parking spots in the upper lot available for folks with mobility challenges, and there are ramps leading into the building

We have plenty of seating available, but folks are welcome to bring a chair of cushion if they prefer
